DJ FOOEY

Sean Crossan

Where was your first gig at? Was it a success?

Over 7 years ago at Fanny's Nightclub...and yep it went OK considering I couldn't beat mix! lol

Most embarrsing moment while spinning your stuff?

When the PA System crashed and everyone thought it was my mixing!

Why did you choose the stage name you have?

Originally I was known as DJ Blend, but after finishing a 3 year residency at the Gateway Hotel I decided to retire that name...I went back to my funk/hip hop/breaks roots and DJ Fooey was born.

What is the most memorable moment?

What is the weirdest thing to have happened while performing?

Someone requesting Metallica, don't get me wrong I grew up on that band (I was originally a drummer), but really in a nightclub!?!

What inspired you to do what you do?

My love of beats and bass lines and having the ability to make people dance.

What is your favourite venue?

There's a few ...Groovin The Moo...The BLOC - Industry Room - and King St.

What DJ decks do u prefer Vinyl/cd/digital?

Vinyl for scratching...CD's for mixing.

Do you play requests?

Hell yeh...but only if I have it (my comeback is "if you want to request it then bring it on a cd!") and only if it fits into the set.

What are your favourite lighting techniques (strobies, disco balls etc)? Please explain!

Well first you have to start with a smoke machine, the a laser, then a strobe and of course several coloured spotties projected onto a cluster of disco balls...I love timing the lighting system to the drops in's.

Some of the venues you have played at?

Groovin The Moo...BLOC...King St...Frosties...Fanny's

Who are some other artists you have performed with?

Why did you choose to spin the disc?

Because I love dance music and seeing girls shake their booty :)

Too many to name...but if I had to choose just one then....um....Bob Sinclar.

What is your greatest career achievement?

Easy...closing Set @ 2007 Groovin The Moo.
