DJ
DYLAN LINDGREN
What is your real name?
Dylan Lindgren
Where was your first gig at? Was it a success?
The Harbour Bar at the Brewery. Yes it was a success, I played for two hours and the
room was packed for most of the night. They seemed to all be enjoying the music.
Most embarrassing moment while spinning your stuff?
Probably trainwrecking... although noone probably noticed!
Why did you choose the stage name you have?
because its my real name!
What is the most memorable moment?
the first time i ever did a perfect mix.
What is the weirdest thing to have happened while performing?
N/A
What inspired you to do what you do?
the love of the music and the culture
What is your favourite venue?
King St Hotel
What DJ decks do u prefer Vinyl/cd/digital?
I still have a soft spot for digital, as thats what I learnt on and i love the freedom/lack of physical restrictions, however i own a pair of CDJ1000's and a Xone 62 and am really enjoying them.
Do you play requests?
I try to, but I don't tend to have what the people request in my CD wallet
What are your favourite lighting techniques (strobies, disco balls etc)? Please explain!
Strobes are fun. Lasers are a little too over-the-top for my liking. I tend to like just strobes, some good coloured lights is usually enough, however a few TV screens/projector with a visualisation on it can be good too... especially when its behind the DJ.
Some of the venues you have played at?
So far the Harbour Bar and tons of house parties.
Who are some other artists you have performed with?
Jay Parker
Why did you choose to spin the discs?
I was sick of going out to clubs and seeing djs playing that are only in it for the status and not for the love of the music. They tend to just play the same chart toppers and are not imaginative at all. I wanted to bring some freshness to the newcastle clubbing scene.
Who is your greatest influence on your career?
Probably Sasha for his musical abilities and his and Danny Howells for his pure love of music and enthusiasm.
What is your greatest career achievement?
Don't have any huge ones yet, but definitely its always good to hear the great feedback i get from some of my mixes, which i release on my blog at www.dylanlindgren.com.
Is it true DJ's get the hottest girls?
not always, although it certainly helps.
